Have a technique or class you think the BARN community would value? We’d love to hear from you!

What is BARN Looking For?

Our instructors are key to bringing BARN’s mission to life. We need passionate, knowledgable instructors who can teach projects and skills for all levels, from beginner to advanced.

Techniques and skills that align with one or more of our studios are particularly welcome. See our list of studios below.

How do I apply?

Email your idea(s), including the following details, to Fran Fuller, BARN Operations Manager, at franf@bainbridgebarn.org.

  • The name and length of your class.
  • A description of what you’ll do in class.
  • One or two eye-catching photos of the project.
  • Your experience teaching the same topic.
  • Any other details you think will persuade the studio to pursue your class.

Fran will send your idea to the studios that best match your class or activity. Even if you’re not sure whether your idea fits with one of our studios, propose it!

At the same time, you can submit an Instructor Application to get a head start on the documentation BARN needs to bring you on board.

For more information about teaching at BARN, check out our BARN Instructor Handbook.

Does BARN pay instructors?

Yes. BARN supports working artists. We also welcome volunteer instructors. Whether you’re paid or volunteer, the steps to get started are the same as above.
